Brain Links is a statewide team of brain injury specialists who equip professionals with current, brain injury research-based training and tools to enable them to better serve people with brain injury of all ages.
The TN Department of Health Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program staff are available to response to question, make referrals and provide education and training. Initial contact to the TBI Program can be the first link in a chain of support for people with brain injury and their family members.
Brain injury is the leading cause of death and disability in the United States. Every 9 seconds someone in the U.S. sustains a brain injury. More than 3.6 million people sustain an acquired brain injury (ABI) each year. At least 2.8 million people sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year.
At least 5.3 million Americans live with a TBI-related disability. That's one in every 60 people.

The Tennessee Department of Health, Traumatic Brain Injury Program was awarded a three-year Traumatic Brain Injury State Partnership Program grant from the Administration on Community Living to create and strengthen a system of services and supports that maximizes the independence, well-being, and health of people with TBI across the lifespan.
