The goal of the TBI Implementation Partnership Grants is to allow States and Territories to focus on their resources and needs in providing individuals with TBI and their families comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and easily accessible system of care. The system should include not only emergency and post-emergent institutional care, but also provide for sustainable change in the system of community services and supports that reflect the best practices in the field of TBI, and allow individuals with TBI and their families maximum flexibility in arrangements for living and working. GOAL 1: Improve the knowledge of school personnel and other professionals working
with children with traumatic brain injury to provide optimal educational outcomes for
those children and their families.
Objective 1.1: Expand the audience for training on pediatric brain injury to include 500
relevant professionals and school personnel not previously targeted by March 2007.
Objective 1.2: Expand the supports and technical assistance provided to the Resource
Teams by providing one distance learning training and three regional training sessions by March 2007.
Objective 1.3: Plan and implement an update of the TBI Program Needs Assessment by March 2007.

GOAL 2: Expand on Project Brain’s capacity to improve the linkage between hospitals and schools in the development of supports for children and youth with traumatic brain injury.
Objective 2.1: To establish a clear communication linkage between hospitals, schools, the Brain Resource Teams and TBI Service Coordinators in three hospitals, in each of the three regions of the State where the Resource Teams are located by March 2007.
Objective 2.2: Increase knowledge on mild brain injury among hospital personnel in five elected locations by March 2007.
