McMillan Appointed as Co-Director of Kennedy Center

Elise McMillan, J.D., has been appointed co-director for the Vanderbilt Kennedy University
Center of Excellence on Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). As the former UCEDD Associate Director and Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Director of Community Outreach, McMillan has worked successfully for over a decade with community and State partners to develop a host of programs that serve persons with disabilities and their families. The VKC was awarded the UCEDD in Fall 2005, funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“The UCEDD grant is enabling us to develop and expand our efforts in outreach service, training, research, and dissemination,” said Elisabeth Dykens, Ph.D., UCEDD director, VKC associate director, and professor of psychology and human development. “This effort continues to be successful, due in large part to Elise’s enthusiasm and dedication. Like so many others at the
McMillan is a board member of The Arc U.S., the Disability Law and Advocacy Center of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities. She has served on numerous State commissions and committees related to developmental disabilities.
