During this webinar\, we’ll overview where the community integration mandate comes from in Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act\, the Americans with Disabilities Act and Olmstead legal precedent\, as well as share recent updates\, discuss what these changes may mean for Tennessee\, and have time for community conversation. SUMMARY:Parties in the Park: Memphis
DESCRIPTION:Our Memphis Party in the Park\, originally scheduled for May 30th\, has been postponed due to weather conditions. We hope you’ll join us on our new fall date\, Saturday\, October 17th\, 2026!  \nThis is a free\, family-friendly outdoor community event designed to bring the disability community together to connect\, learn\, and celebrate each other.  This event will have: \n\nFree food\nOutdoor games and coloring pages\nLocal organizations exhibiting information and resources\nPortable fixed-height adult-sized changing table in enclosed tent\nPicnic tables will be available at the event. Please feel free to bring your own chairs if preferred. \n\nWe have tried to make this event as inclusive as possible\, but please look into the venue website for details related to the specific needs of you and/or your family. Event venue is located near bus and paratransit routes. We have a limited number of $25 gas cards and gift cards available to help offset the cost of gas or transportation for you to attend. Staff will have these at the TN Disability Coalition table at the picnics for those who need them until supplies run out.  \nWhether you stop by for a few minutes or stay for the entire event\, we hope to see you there!
