Our Memphis Party in the Park, originally scheduled for May 30th, has been postponed due to weather conditions. We hope you’ll join us on our new fall date, Saturday, October 17th, 2026!

This is a free, family-friendly outdoor community event designed to bring the disability community together to connect, learn, and celebrate each other.  This event will have:

  • Free food
  • Outdoor games and coloring pages
  • Local organizations exhibiting information and resources
  • Portable fixed-height adult-sized changing table in enclosed tent
  • Picnic tables will be available at the event. Please feel free to bring your own chairs if preferred.

We have tried to make this event as inclusive as possible, but please look into the venue website for details related to the specific needs of you and/or your family. Event venue is located near bus and paratransit routes. We have a limited number of $25 gas cards and gift cards available to help offset the cost of gas or transportation for you to attend. Staff will have these at the TN Disability Coalition table at the picnics for those who need them until supplies run out. 

Whether you stop by for a few minutes or stay for the entire event, we hope to see you there!

  • Where will the party take place?

    Our Memphis Parties in the Park event will take place on Saturday, October 17th, at East Parkway Pavilion, Overton Park (389 E Pkwy N, Memphis, TN 38112) from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CDT.

  • Will food be provided?

    Yes! You can’t have a party without food. We will be providing the following food and drink options:

    • Pork hot dogs
    • Beef hamburgers
    • Vegan option
    • Bun
    • Gluten-free bun
    • Chips
    • Large bowls of separated fruit
    • Cookies
    • Bottled water
    • Tea

  • Will transportation be provided?

    No, transportation will not be provided to events. However, all parks are on main public transportation routes and paratransit routes and have parking.

    A limited number of $25 gas cards are available to help with travel costs for those who need them. You can request one when you RSVP. Please note: gas cards will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Is there free parking?

    Yes, free and accessible parking is available at each location. Spaces may be limited, so we recommend checking the venue’s website ahead of time if you’re not familiar with the area.

  • Will the parties be accessible?

    All events will take place at outdoor parks, and accessibility features may vary by location. While we’ve worked to make these events as inclusive as possible, we encourage you to check each venue’s website for details that fit your family’s specific needs.

    We will also have access to a portable, fixed-height adult-sized changing table in an enclosed tent for folks to utilize at each event.

  • How can I request accommodations?

    You can request disability-related accommodations when you RSVP.

  • What will there be to do?

    Each event will include:

    • Local organizations sharing resources and information
    • Outdoor games and coloring pages
    • Free food
    • Time to connect with others in the community

  • Do I need to bring anything?

    Nope! You don’t need to bring anything, however you’re welcome to bring anything that helps you stay comfortable, like chairs, umbrellas, cooling items, etc.
