April 16th, TN House and Senate negotiators settled on a more than $58 billion dollar spending plan for Tennessee. Both chambers passed the budget. That sets the stage for a flurry of activity to get to the end of session.
The House has as many as 150 bills remaining to be heard on the floor and several measures are headed for conference committees. When different versions of the same bill pass the House and Senate, a conference committee is held to resolve those differences.
The Bill Tracker continues to get shorter, reflecting only this week’s actions, and any bills still “alive”. After the General Assembly adjourns we will put together a more comprehensive report on the outcomes of bills related to disabilities. We will also take a look at the budget that was passed, and its implications for people with disabilities and their families.
