With this information, the support provider can then use the Strategies and Accommodations Tool (SAT) to decide what strategies and accommodations to use the help the person overcome their challenges and focus on their strengths.
The SAT was developed to be used with the Brainstorming Solutions Tool (BST). Once a service provider identifies issues on the BST, they would look at the SAT to help decide which strategies could best help the person being served. They could do this along with the person-served to get their input. The SAT is like a reminder list to help the provider remember the different strategies that could be used. The SAT looks at all the areas on the BST and provides a box next to each strategy to check off what might work. An area for assistive technology suggestions is included. Next to each area are initials indicating what other professional could be consulted to provide expert opinion in that area. A key is provided with the professional their initials.
